A dançar e a cantar

Os bichos estão contentes. Cantam e dançam porque vão passar o próximo fim-de-semana ao sol, no magnífico jardim da Estrela, youpie!

Bichos are happy. They sing, they dance because they're going to spend the next weekend at the sun in the amazing garden of Estrela, youpie!

Fauna

O tema de hoje do Corner View é "Animais" e como a Moura não se mostrou disponível para a fotografia fui buscar quase toda a fauna que tinha em casa, em versão surreal ou encantada.

This week's Corner View is about animals. Moura was not in the mood for a photo shoot so I picked all the fauna I had at home, in a surreal or enchanted way.

Esta fotografia foi tirada há mais de 3 anos. Tinha sido adoptada há 15 dias. E é tão calma que, quando lhe colámos uma etiqueta vermelha no focinho, ficou assim! Esta fotografia só foi possível porque o telemóvel é mais discreto que a máquina fotográfica...

This photo was taken 3 years ago. We adopted her two weeks before. And she's so calm that, when we stocked a red etiquette onto her nose, she stayed like that! This photo was possible because the cell phone is more discrete than a camera...

Clonette

Foram as primeiras bonecas a serem produzidas industrialmente em África. As minhas Clonettes foram compradas aqui e, se pudesse, tinha uma de cada cor porque elas ficam tão bonitas todas juntas e reunidas ajudam com mais força uma boa causa.

These plastic dolls were the first to be produced in an industrial way in Africa. My Clonette Dolls were bought here and if I could I would have one of each color because they're so gorgeous all together! And all together they can help a very good cause.

Lobos, parte 1

Gosto muito de lobos. Mas a figura do lobo nas histórias e contos infantis é sempre medonha, tenebrosa e está sempre pronta a atacar as criaturas mais indefesas. Ora, tenho pensado como vou passar aos meus filhos outra imagem do Senhor Lobo...
A fórmula mágica talvez seja o humor.
"Wolves" de Emily Gravett é um excelente exemplo.
Alguém conhece alguma história em que o lobo seja o "bom da fita"?

I love wolves. But, when it comes to children's books, tales or fables, wolves are always scary, dark and ready to attack any living creature. So, when I'll have kids I just have to find a good way to change Mr. Wolf's reputation... Maybe the magic formula is joking about it.
"Wolves" by Emily Gravett is a marvelous example.
Does anyone know a tale where wolves are the "good guys"?

Lobos, parte 2

A história do Capucinho Vermelho é, de todas as histórias, talvez aquela em que o Lobo consegue ser mais refinado na sua maldade. Assedia a menina na floresta, assalta a casa da avózinha, come a avózinha, espera pela menina fazendo-se passar pela avózinha e finalmente come a menina!
Ora, a versão de Michel Van Zeveren é diferente. Em "Et Pourquoi?", a menina Capucinho é tão chata e faz tantas perguntas que o Lobo acaba por cometer suicídio e antecipar um final feliz...

In the Little Red Ridding Hood tale the Wolf is really, really mean. He harasses the little girl in the forest, enters in the granny's house, eats granny, waits for the little girl disguised as granny and finally he eats the little girl! In Michel Van Zeveren's version it's another story. In "Et Pourquoi?" little Red Ridding Hood is so annoying and asks too many questions. So the Wolf decides that suicide can be a happy ending, after all...

Gosto do trabalho da Lena Corwin e já há alguns dias que chegou este poster com pequenos pormenores do nosso planeta. Demorei alguns dias a encaixilhá-lo e a escolher o sítio certo. Achei que ficaria bem perto do Farinha, o peixe, que agora tem vista para a Torre Eiffel, os camelos e as pirâmides, o Taj Mahal, o Elvis ou a Golden Gate.

I like Lena Corwin's work and a couple a days ago I received this travel poster with little details of our planet. It took me some days to frame it and to choose the right place. Then I thought it will look great near Farinha, the fish. Now he can enjoy the view of the Eiffel Tower, the camels and the pyramids, Taj Mahal, Elvis or the Golden Gate.
